Plixer, Enterasys to Showcase NetFlow-based Enhanced Traffic Analysis Software at Interop

Plixer International (News - Alert) has teamed with Enterasys in order to showcase the robust NetFlow analysis tool Scrutinizer 9.0 at Interop (News - Alert) Las Vegas, which is taking place from May 6-10 2012.

Touted as a Web-based extremely flexible solution, Scrutinizer identifies device owner, type and location to improve network security and enhance bandwidth for improved IT services. The detailed network utilization reports show the applications and users generating network traffic. Even sites with secured connections that use encrypted traffic can’t hide from the insight provided by NetFlow and IPFIX collection and reporting.

Scrutinizer 9.0 for NetFlow traffic analysis will be integrated with Enterasys’ (News - Alert) Mobile IAM Solution supporting Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) deployments. Scrutinizer can peer deep into bandwidth traffic and give insight on bandwidth consumption details, allowing companies to allocate bandwidth efficiently for work-related needs.

Enterasys’ Mobile IAM solution delivers unparalleled visibility and control into enterprise connected devices, deciding where the devices can go on a network and what they can do. This is carried out through optional pre-admission endpoint security policy checks and post-admission.

Once allowed on the network, Mobile IAM’s shares users’ login credentials with Plixer’s Scrutinizer to enable IT administrators to see the details of the users and mobile device types, applications they are using, who they are connected with, and more. It alerts administrators when the bandwidth consumption is higher than the normal level.

“The integration of Enterasys’ Mobile IAM and Plixer’s award-winning Scrutinizer is a solution forged out of necessity and driven by new challenges such as securing personal devices connecting to corporate networks (BYOD),” said Michael Patterson (News - Alert), product manager, co-founder, Plixer International, in a statement.

“This new network traffic analysis is not a single observation point such as a firewall, but full visibility—across the entire enterprise—showing the user, operating system and specific device, and not just an IP address,” Patterson added.

Earlier this year, Plixer International hosted the FlowFest 2012: Advanced NetFlow Training for IT Professionals. The event, held at Plixer's global headquarters in Maine on February 22 and 23, provided attendees with practical tips and hands-on training on NetFlow technology best practices.
