By Vinti Vaid, TMCnet Contributor
TerraWave (News - Alert) Solutions, a WiFi
solutions provider and a division of TESSCO Technologies Incorporated, announced the release of its 802.11n Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) “Six-Pack” omnidirectional antenna solution — a product the company claims is the first of its kind in the wireless local area network (WLAN
) industry.

Designed to operate with Cisco’s (News - Alert) 1252 Access Point (AP), this next-generation WLAN product consists of a unique six-in-one solution: three integrated 2.4 GHz omni antennas and three integrated 5 GHz omni antennas in one enclosure.
The 802.11n dual band 2.4/5 GHz ceiling mount MIMO
omnidirectional antenna is an addition to TerraWave’s existing line of multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) antennas and other wireless LAN devices that support applications in the IEEE
802.11n wireless communications systems. It complements Cisco’s 802.11n access point technology launched last year.

In the words of Chris Marco, TerraWave Solutions WLAN Business Leader: “TerraWave is committed to developing and delivering industry-leading products to support WLAN implementations. “The new line of antennas for 802.11n MIMO applications has been designed to help WLAN engineers deliver the most comprehensive, cost-effective and complete solutions when deploying this exciting, new technology.”
The new product reinforces TerraWave’s goal to provide its partners with customized WiFi (News - Alert) solutions that address every aspect of WLAN deployment in the enterprise.
Endeavoring to demonstrate how its innovations and latest technologies markedly improve data throughput and deliver dramatic gains in reliability, TerraWave is showcasing its antenna portfolio along with the company’s entire WLAN infrastructure and accessory products at the global business technology event Interop (News - Alert) Las Vegas (Booth # 2355) between April 29 and May 1.
