Sharing video from anywhere is something end users want, which is why so many mobile devices (ie. smart phones and tablets) boast built in cameras. One such related company, LiveU (News - Alert), is capitalizing on this by adding a range of products designed to help end users achieve maximum video quality based on their current network conditions.
LiveU, a major player in video-over-cellular solutions, allows users to enjoy live video transmission from virtually any location across the globe.
This week, the company announced the launch of apps for laptops and mobile devices, which will be added to the LU70 backpack and handheld LU40 uplink solutions for sending field video for news teams. The setup, which is in its fourth generation, is designed to help journalists get video streaming live from events in a variety of wireless conditions.
Samuel Wasserman, LiveU's CEO, elaborated on how this enhancement accommodates the ever-evolving face of live video as spanned across multiple fields and industries. “Customers now have an even wider range of options for their teams covering breaking news and events, at any time, using multiple devices to transmit video back to the studio,” he explained, adding how this can range from reporters and producers on news teams who engage in the bring your own device (BYOD) trend by utilizing their personal smartphones and laptops to on-site camera operators.
LiveU will be demonstrating this and other products at IBC2012, Connected World, Stand No. 14.365. Persons interested should contact the manufacturer for information on pricing and availability.
