Hospital Compliance Technology Offers More Than Just Cheaper Solutions to Physicians

Hospital compliance is necessary in a medical world full of regulations and standard operating procedures. And at HIMSS 2012, Primex Wireless is sponsoring an automated solution that will provide answers to the challenging task of maintaining facility compliance called Intelligent Hospital. Intelligent Hospital will help hospitals deal with common facility compliance challenges such as ongoing temperature monitoring, emergency event monitoring, life safety inspection points, and time synchronization.

“Coupled with sprawling campuses peppered with disparate buildings, which are down the street, across town or even in another city, these problems can have painful consequences on a facility’s bottom line,” said Mike O’Brien, Director Product Research and Marketing. Non-compliance in facilities can result in a loss of Medicaid and Medicare programs, which account for about 55 percent of a typical hospital’s budget. The Intelligent Hospital exhibit is in the RFID Pavilion at the HIMSS 2012 Conference.

With more products and demonstrations to take place over the next few days, HIMSS is proving to be quite intriguing for those in the medical IT field. With technology and networking organizations expanding into the healthcare market and a heavy dose of emerging healthcare cloud computing solutions, HIMSS 2012 has been quite a show.

Medical technology solutions have been a hot topic at this year’s event, as they should be. With emerging technologies making a huge impact in other industries, why shouldn’t they be used to make our medical care more efficient? Over the last few years, there has been a huge debate around medical providers and the costs of providing cheaper healthcare to those that need it. This conference and the technologies that are emerging from its presenters are offering great solutions to the issue. By offering some alternative technologies that can ultimately make healthcare cheaper and more efficient the possibilities of affordable healthcare for all seems to be on the horizon. Now all we need is some political action that wont be tied up for a year straight so people can get the healthcare they need. At least we are halfway there, right?
