ZyDoc Introduces MediSapien Medical Knowledge Management Platform at HIMSS

ZyDoc Medical Transcription, a medical transcription technology and informatics firm, recently announced the introduction of the web-based MediSapien Medical Knowledge Management Platform. The platform will be introduced by James M. Maisel, M.D., chairman of ZyDoc Medical Transcription, at the HIMSS12 annual conference being held in Las Vegas from February 20-24.

In a release, Maisel went on to say, “From the outset MediSapien has been designed to facilitate interoperability. Although a primary goal of the HITECH act is data exchange across boundaries, its achievement has been slow because it presents major challenges. MediSapien lowers the barrier to interoperability by providing standardized data that can be shared at the data level between EHRs and through the Verizon (News - Alert) Medical Data Exchange and other Health Information Exchanges.”

The latest offering from ZyDoc has been designed to be different from ZyDoc Transcription as it incorporates NLP-powered industry solutions and will be made available via channel partners who include EHRs, Billing and RCM, Analytics, and MTSOs.

The MediSapien platform’s capabilities with respect to automatic coding of unstructured text and its insertion into an ONC-certified HER will be displayed at the HIMSS12. The solution accepts dictation or text from various sources which include transcription vendors, legacy data, and EHRs.

Additionally, MediSapien also offers computer-assisted coding (CAC) supporting revenue cycle management companies and data mining for health data analytics customers and can support independent application developers as well.

The platform incorporates NLP powered solutions and various patent-pending processes to leverage unstructured texts to support population of EHRs with structured coded data allowing for a more Meaningful Use and for enabling repeat usage. The solution will make it easy for physicians who have not adopted EHR yet to make the migration by using dictation.

Ashish Bhatt, VP of Business Development, said that, “MediSapien offers a strong value proposition for each of our primary channels. Channel partners and their clients, including EHRs, Billing and RCM, Analytics, and MTSOs, and end-users such as Health Care Providers can utilize the entire MediSapien platform infrastructure or select standalone functionalities such as speech recognition and computer-assisted coding. Channel partners also gain exclusive access to our partner network and new business development opportunities.”
