Powerwave Technologies Displays 4G Inside Out Solutions at CTIA Wireless 2011

The present wireless communications are considered to be in in the third generation (3G) of deployment and are rapidly moving to fourth (4G) generation. At International CTIA (News - Alert) Wireless 2011, Powerwave Technologies Inc. will display its cutting-edge new 4G network infrastructure products. Visitors will be able to see these products from March 22-24 in Orlando, FL, at the Orange (News - Alert) County Convention Center.

According to a press release, Powerwave’s lineup of new products is led by the Powerwave Picocell (News - Alert) and Active Array Antenna, both of which are finalists for a CTIA E-Tech Award, including iCC Internet Commanded Combiner and a complete line of RF broadband site solutions for fast and economic deployment of 4G networks that includes signal combiners, signal amplifiers and broadband antennas.

Powerwave (News - Alert) Technologies, Inc. offers cutting edge wireless infrastructure to address the demands of enterprise and commercial customers. The company is also displaying broadband site solutions including dual-band AWS/PCS LTE SIMO overlay combiners, LTE MIMO reconfigurable frequency and bandwidth combiners, an LTE700 crossband combiner, diplexer and triplexer, WiMAX (News - Alert)/LTE 2600 crossband combiners, a universal crossband combiner and a micro twin 2600 LTE tower mounted amplifier.

Ronald J. Buschur, president and CEO at Powerwave said that, “The technology story of the year is 4G networks, and the competition is intense for carriers to roll out services to customers as quickly as possible and the fastest and most economical way to do this is by upgrading existing cell sites with equipment that can support both legacy 2G/3G while transitioning to 4G.”

Powerwave’s tower mounted amplifiers boost capacity and coverage for 2G/3G and LTE deployments. The company’s iCC Internet Commanded Combiner facilitates feed line and antenna sharing from two or more 2G, 3G or 4G radio heads or base transceiver systems (BTS). It is a major advancement from conventional filter combiners that have extremely restricted flexibility in adapting filter response because they are either fixed-tuned or manually tuned.

In other company news, TMCnet reported that Powerwave Technologies has the appointed Richard Burns, a wireless telecommunications industry veteran with 34 years of experience, to its board of directors.
