3M Introduces Flat, Foldable HDMI Cable at 2012 CES

3M (News - Alert), innovation technology company, announced the introduction of a flat and foldable HDMI cable with advanced technology features at the 2012 CES (News - Alert). The company in its announcement said that the 3M High Speed with Ethernet Cable for HDMI, which has been designed for the consumer market, features technology advancements based on its cable technology and colored rings to ensure easy identification of cable and Command Brand clips to eliminate damage during cable management.

The company's technology and innovative brand of solutions are visible in televisions and displays across the industry for enhancing viewing angles and brightness while bringing down consumption of power. 3M's HDMI cable incorporates its award-winning Twin (News - Alert) Axial Cable technology, which has proven critical in transmission of high-speed data and information across servers and super computers in enterprises.

Key highlights of the cable include the 3M Innovation design for ensuring a thin HDMI cable fitted with unique manufacturing process which enables easy folding of the cable and allows it to make sharp turns without affecting performance and picture quality delivered by the cable. To ensure a Damage-Free Cable Management of the HDMI cable, Command Brand adhesive clips have been incorporated into the design which makes it easy for users to manage their cable within the entertainment center easily.

Command Products provide a strong grip however; they can be removed easily which allows users to organize their cables within the entertainment center without any wall damage. Additionally, 3M has included multiple colored rings to the HDMI cable to ensure easy identification of the cables. Now users will know which cable needs to go where so accidental plugging and or unpluggings can be avoided.

The company will make available High Speed with Ethernet Cable (up to 13 feet or 4 meters) for the HDMI cable within the U.S. markets in Q1 of 2012.

In other news, 3M Touch Systems Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of 3M, recently announced the U.S. availability of the 3M Smart Pen, 300 Series, a uniquely designed input device finely-tuned for use with popular capacitive touchscreen devices, including the Apple (News - Alert) iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
