Attend a Tiesto Concert from Your Twitter Stream

Twitter (News - Alert) is getting on the CES bandwagon and launching its first-ever live streaming concert.

The star? Electronic music artist, Tiesto, whose known for tunes such as “Beautiful World,” “Zero 76” and “Work Hard, Play Hard.”

According to Mashable, HP and Intel (News - Alert) are on board to sponsor the event and it will help promote the Jan. 17 launch of Tiesto's new 10-episode YouTube series, In the Booth, a behind-the-scenes look at Tiesto's life and his impact on the electronic dance movement.

“We have offered streaming on the site before, but this is the first-time ever that the site will feature a live concert,” Rob Pietsch, Twitter’s director of West Coast sales, reports Mashable. “HP came to us with the idea and we couldn’t be more excited to hear how the company and Intel will be using their Twitter brand pages to reach out to the public and become destination sites. It’s a first for us, and we expect in the future that more companies will integrate streaming video into their pages.”

The private, 90-minute concert begins at 10 p.m. at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, and will be streamed live from HP and Intel's Twitter brand pages. It will also be played on a loop on those pages for the next 48 hours. Fans can interact with others on the site during the concert, and HP and Intel executives will be live tweeting from the show using the hash tag (News - Alert) #TiestoLive.

This event takes Twitter parties to an entirely new level.

Twitter parties, virtual parties that are becoming part of a lot of marketing campaigns, typically last one to two hours and are a way for people to connect and discuss a topic of choice. Twitter users tweet with a specified Hashtag (#) for the party, of which is usually made available beforehand so users can get on board.

Twitter Parties are often held around events – real-life events, events within a company, or events completely manufactured by a marketing department.

The idea is to harness this power and help people learn to get to know, like and trust a product or event.
