McLeodUSA Selects BroadSoft for VoIP Integrated Access

BY JOHANNE TORRES

VoIP applications software provider BroadSoft Inc. announced today that it entered into a reseller agreement with McLeodUSA Incorporated, a telecommunications services provider. McLeodUSA selected the BroadWorks platform to provide a range of VoIP business applications for the Preferred Advantage Dynamic Integrated Access service.

With BroadSoft's BroadWorks platform in place, McLeodUSA will be able to offer services to enterprises at varying stages of IP deployment, ranging from those customers with existing PBX equipment to those desiring a completely hosted IP service. Broadsoft’s platform provides VoIP applications which include hosted PBX, business trunking, residential broadband, hosted key system and IP multimedia services fully integrated into a single hosted communications platform.

"McLeodUSA is committed to providing our customers with world-class integrated voice and data solutions," said Andreas Papanicolaou, executive VP of network services for McLeodUSA. "BroadSoft's BroadWorks VoIP platform addressed our need for scalability and support for multiple applications. By providing a standards-based open architecture, BroadWorks enables us to support our strategy by expanding our Preferred Advantage product portfolio, delivering cost-effective communications solutions and capabilities to our customers."

With Preferred Advantage Dynamic Integrated Access, McLeodUSA will be able to bundle many services into one package. Its customers will be able to receive high-speed Internet access, high quality voice service, 17 local calling features, an easy-to-use Web-based control panel, and the ability to add or change features and generate reports via the McLeodUSA customer web portal. McLeodUSA customers with multiple locations will enjoy the benefits of abbreviated dialing and free site-to-site calling between all of their Dynamic Integrated Access served locations.

"McLeodUSA is reinforcing its promise to put its customers first with the rapid deployment of its Preferred Advantage Dynamic Integrated Access service, allowing companies to simplify communications, lower costs and provide higher functionality," said Michael Tessler, president and CEO at BroadSoft. "We're proud to have been chosen by McLeodUSA who is known for providing world class communications services that offer advanced features, reliability, flexibility and customer control by using the latest technology."
