LifeSize, a high definition video communications provider, announced today that it made a deal with San Jose, CA-based Codian, a manufacturer of high performance video conferencing infrastructure products, to provide customers with the ability to connect up to 20 simultaneous locations via 1280x720 high definition video.
LifeSize's recently launched suite of high definition video communications products includes an 8-way embedded multipoint control unit (MCU). The company explained that new partnership with Codian was established to address the needs of those organizations that need to connect a larger number of simultaneous locations, or those who prefer to deploy a standalone MCU.
"We are delighted to work with Codian and have been able to make our products work together easily," said Craig Malloy, CEO of Austin, TX-based LifeSize. "Our customers are showing interest in Codian's products, and we intend to reinvent and grow the video communications industry together."
The new partnership will enable LifeSize and Codian to jointly develop integrated solutions that would allow companies to experience a higher video communications quality.
The deal will allow the companies to accomplish the following:
- Codian will add high definition multipoint support to their MCU product lines and will fully interoperate with LifeSize products
- LifeSize Control video management software will allow administrators to fully manage Codian devices via a Web-based system, including scheduling, upgrades, trouble-ticketing and detailed reports
- LifeSize Room and LifeSize Exec customers will be able to use the Codian IPVCR to easily record and stream conferences
"LifeSize's high definition video communications endpoints complement our high performance infrastructure products," stated Codian’s CEO, David Holloway. "Customer feedback tells us that a full end-to-end solution from Codian and LifeSize will simplify high definition video deployment for users and administrators alike."
