IT EXPO Miami 2005 News: ABP Presenting Four New Products

BY JOHANNE TORRES

At just weeks away from our next INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference and EXPO Miami 2005, companies’ new product announcements start pouring in, jamming my inbox. In fact, many companies schedule their product and service announcements along with our conference’s dates, because they know our shows are packed with potential clients and great networking opportunities. I am not only going to bring you the latest scoop on all the announcements before the show, but I will also keep you informed on what happens straight from our conference keynotes and sessions and our incredibly trafficked EXPO halls.

Today, I bring you the latest news from Dallas, Texas-based ABP Technology—a division of ABP International Inc. and a Voice over IP solutions provider. The company announced today it’s presenting its latest VoIP products including Hitachi Cable’s Wireless IP Phone, the SIPURA Analog Telephony Adapters, the Epygi IPBXs—now supporting SIP phones, and Intertex’s new SIPswitch.

“ABP’s participation at INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO is a primary reason why this show is widely recognized as the industry’s #1 venue to test, compare, and learn about the benefits and cost-savings inherent in IP telephony products and services,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC president and conference chairman. “The evolution in this industry has been monumental and it still continues to grow. We are proud to have ABP Technology with their expertise in the VoIP products they have evaluated and distribute as a key part of this year’s program.”

According to the company, the Hitachi Cable’s Wireless IP-5000 Phone is an advanced wireless IP phone that allows users to achieve crystal clear voice communication over an IEEE 802.11b wireless IP network. APB says the device does not only support all of the conveniences and functions of a digital phone, but it also integrates all key features of stationary IP phones and offers long battery life and great range.

At our next INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Miami 2005, APB will also present the SIPURA Analog Telephony Adapters. These adapters can be installed by the end-user and be remotely provisioned, configured, and maintained by the service provider, each SPA converts voice traffic into data packets for transmission over an IP network. The company says the SPA can be used in consumer and business IP telephony service offerings that include full-featured IP Centrex.

The company will also present the Epygi Quadro iPBXs with SIP protocol support for IP phones. The product can use both local phone company lines and VoIP service lines to integrate the reliability versatility, and cost-effectiveness of iPBXs for small businesses, branch offices, and home offices. APB says that the Epygi Quadro iPBX’s advanced IP routing features and firewall were designed to protect office computers and to provide quality of service (QoS) for IP-based calls. The company believes the Epygi Auto Attendant will provide clients with a “big company image” because of the system’s voicemail, conferencing, and all of the standard PBX features; and also provide clients savings on fixed-line costs and toll charges while at the same time maintaining known phone numbers for incoming calls and for backup in case of a temporary loss of Internet connectivity or temporary QoS problems.

Also to be introduced at our INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Miami 2005—the Intertex’s new SIPswitch, includes an access router to enable several PC’s and up to 24 SIP devices to share a single broadband connection and a firewall for security and privacy on the LAN. APB says that the included basic SIP proxy and dialplan was specifically designed to be used as a local mini PBX for IP phones. When used with a hosted IPBX solution, this product can be used as a "fall back" proxy in case IP connectivity is down to allow the local IP phone network to continue operating and even make calls out through a local optional gateway. The unit also includes a PCMCIA Slot enabling the addition of a wireless card for a residential wireless network that will support wireless SIP devices.

“We are passionate about the success of our resellers and service provider partners and the Internet Telephony event in Miami has always been a fantastic venue for us to meet our customers face to face and exchange critical information on products, engineering concepts and sales issues.” said APB’s President and CEO, Robert Messer.
