VoIP products provider i2Telecom International, Inc. (quote) just struck an international deal with Italba Corporation, a licensed telecom carrier in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Jamaica and Uruguay. Under the terms of the agreement, Italba will use i2Telecom's VoIP products to expand its current service offerings.
Italba placed an initial order for 1,500 i2Telecom microgateway Internet access devices to be distributed in South America and the Caribbean. The company provides international termination services to large and small telecommunications carriers that require access to South American and Jamaican markets. Italba also provides Voice over IP (VoIP) (define - news - alert - tutorial) solutions and services to small-to-medium enterprises with local and international telecommunications requirements.
"We are pleased to have been selected by Italba as its VoIP partner in this rapidly developing region of the world," stated Paul Arena, Chief Executive Officer of i2 Telecom International, Inc.
"We believe that our ongoing success in the international marketplace reflects not only the fundamental economic benefits of VoIP, but also the added value of our Advanced Digital Voice platform. Working with such leading telecommunications providers as Italba in South America and China Unicom in Asia, we are providing significant cost savings and improving communications capabilities among the customers and employees of organizations around the world."
i2Telecom is adding its Advanced Digital Voice platform to the new VoIP deal with Italba, combining hardware, software and "talkware". The platform offers new architecture for the company's microgateway products built to SIP standard, a global VoIP network, a global PSTN interconnect network, and geographically dispersed Network Operation Centers.
"We selected i2Telecom over the competition because of the advanced features of the InternetTalker(TM), the company's ability to provide unparalleled service in the remote areas of the countries we serve, and its excellent reputation for supporting global partners," stated Gustavo Alberelli, President and Chief Executive Officer of Italba Corporation. "i2Telecom's products are very easy to deploy and an ideal complement to the services Italba currently provides to SMEs, Internet Cafes and Hotels in South America and in the Caribbean region."
