Avaya Notification Solution Helps Businesses Prepare for the Worst

When there’s a crisis, you want to know about it immediately, in order to get the best solution as fast as possible. Avaya (News - Alert) knows that, and has released Avaya Notification Solution 2.0, notifying users at any endpoint as soon as trouble appears.




Avaya Notification Solution (ANS (News - Alert)) provides quick and coordinated communication to users in the office, at home, on the web, or on their own device - however they choose to be contacted. It combines with Avaya’s conferencing solutions, such as Avaya Aura Conferencing or Radvision (News - Alert) Scopia videoconferencing, bringing teams together to coordinate and respond as soon as possible.

It’s a scalable solution, made to work for businesses and teams of any size. It’s particularly useful for businesses where many employees bring their own devices, or with remote teams or workers. Collaboration is facilitated through integrated Meet-me conferencing and collaboration capabilities, or through integration with another of Avaya’s conferencing solutions.

With ANS 2.0, organizations can prepare for any problems or issues that may arise with instructions, messages, and so on. When the disasters do strike, automated messages are triggered and sent out through the Web, phone, or third party systems to reach basically any endpoint, from phone messages to social media sites. If necessary, it can even interrupt active conversations on Avaya IP phones. The proper groups are then brought together to speak and collaborate on the proper solution.

"During the Colorado wildfires earlier this year, we were very concerned about how our area employees were personally being affected and also needed to keep them informed about access to our local facilities,” says Bill Parkin, Avaya’s director of Security and Business Continuity. “We used Avaya Notification Solution to reach more than 1200 employees, poll them to see if they needed aid and assistance, and provide them with information and instructions. This entire process took about 90 minutes -- a significant reduction in time from just a year earlier when a similar event took nearly three days."

It never hurts to have a contingency plan. Should any disaster strike, it’s best you can handle it quickly and efficiently, and Avaya Notification Solution is a great way to do so. From alerting employees about disasters to bringing a team together quickly, it’s a great tool for crisis management. No matter what goes wrong, from natural disaster to systems crashing, it can help. As Scar famously sang in “The Lion King:” “Be prepared!”
