Vonage And Coldwater Board Of Public
Utilities Announce Co-Branded Partnership
Vonage announced a co-branded
partnership with the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU), to deploy
broadband telephony service to Coldwater's several thousand cable
television passings in Coldwater, Michigan. CBPU will offer Vonage's
residential local and long distance calling plan throughout the US and
Canada to its aggressively growing broadband Internet customer base. It
will also offer Vonage's two small business plans and an additional
residential plan.
The Vonage-CBPU partnership offers Coldwater residents an affordable
full-featured telephony choice. All plans include the standard calling
features like call waiting and caller ID as well as a number of
proprietary features at no additional cost. All subscribers receive
Web-based account management, such online voicemail retrieval, real
inbound/outbound calling activity, call hunt and area code selection.
"This partnership is a great opportunity for southwestern Michigan
residents and small businesses to obtain full featured, flat rate calling
plans, which include free customer controlled features, such as caller ID,
call waiting and call forwarding," said Dan Elwell, national account
manager, Vonage. "We have the opportunity to further grow our customer
base in Michigan, while the Coldwater Public Utility Board now has a new
service to cross sell to its broadband subscribers, enabling its customers
to benefit from a low cost, high quality alternative to traditional
telephony."
"The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) is very pleased to be able
to offer an alternative to the legacy calling systems currently being
provided by the incumbent phone companies," said Lindy Cox, communications
manager of the CPBU. "High-speed Internet subscribers in and around the
CBPU's service area will be better served by having additional choices for
their local and long distance calls. This is another service we can
provide cost effectively that can save our customers money and still give
them access to state-of-the-art technology."
