Maxxan Completes Interoperability Testing With Qlogic

MaXXan® Systems, Inc., the first company to ship intelligent storage networking solutions, today announced that it has successfully tested its MaXXan MXV320™ Intelligent Application Switch, as well as the SA100f™ and SA200f™ business continuity and storage consolidation solutions with the QLogic SANbox2™ Fibre Channel switches and SANblade™ host bus adapters. MaXXan's products are based on the innovative SANe™ (Storage Application Engine) architecture that centralizes the delivery and management of storage applications from the storage network by leveraging high-performance I/O engines and a programmable switch fabric.

The QLogic qualification is part of MaXXan's comprehensive program of interoperability testing with industry-leading vendors of SAN infrastructure and storage products. MaXXan previously announced that the MXV320 system has been certified by Hitachi Data Systems under the Interoperability Demonstration Program (IDP).

""QLogic and MaXXan share a common goal of making storage networks more scalable and easier to manage," said Joseph Kimpler, director of business alliances, QLogic Corp. "The combination of QLogic's award-winning SANblade HBAs and SANbox2 switches, and MaXXan's industry-leading SANe-based products offers customers the ability to leverage best-in-class solutions from the core to the edge of their enterprise storage infrastructure."

"We are committed to ensuring that our customers can deploy MaXXan solutions that are pre-tested for interoperability with best-of-breed third-party storage networking equipment," said Ramu Muthangi, director of field support for MaXXan Systems. "QLogic represents the type of premier partner MaXXan is working with to provide high-quality, fully-tested solutions that can be deployed in today's heterogeneous storage environments."

MaXXan's flagship MXV320 Intelligent Application Switch based on the Company¹s SANe architecture is built around a standards-based I/O engine optimized to run leading software applications and a network processor-based programmable switch fabric that delivers core services at the port level. The MaXXan SA100f standalone system and SA200f application card for the Intelligent Application Switch are designed for cost-effective and easy deployment of business continuity/disaster recovery (DR) and storage consolidation solutions. The SA100f is a standalone system for use in smaller environments or remote sites that do not need an integrated switch. The SA200f application card is integrated into MaXXan's MXV320 Intelligent Application Switch for large data centers.
