Alienware, a company that manufactures desktop, notebook and entertainment systems, today announced a new offer – ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics card – on its lines of desktops.

 

According to Alienware, ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, which the company claims as world’s most powerful graphics card, is made available on a selected line of desktops, including Alienware Area-51, Area-51 ALX and Aurora.

 

ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 provides superior gaming and entertainment experience to users, Alienware said. The new graphics card features 2.4 teraflops of graphics power, 1,600 stream processing units, 2GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory and a number of additional features to offer extraordinary PC gaming and HD video playback, the company said.

 

With an available 2GB of GDDR5 memory, the fastest memory technology available today for higher speeds, increased bandwidth and ultra-high frame rates, hardcore gamers can get maximum benefits from their gaming system, Alienware said. 

 

According to Alienware, the new graphics card offers DirectX 10.1support, along with high-performance anisotropic filtering and 24X custom filter anti-aliasing to provide lifelike graphic experience.

 

Additionally, the three Alienware desktops support dual ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 cards in an ATI CrossFireX configuration for superior quad-graphics power and promise better performance, Alienware said.

 

Users can enjoy high-definition (HD) entertainment contents with the help of the new tools. The new graphics card provides Blu-ray movies play in full 1080p and HD games and other media display at resolutions up to 2560 x 1600. Additionally, ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 features enhanced DVD upscaling, enabling users to watch standard-definition DVDs at near high-definition quality.
