DnC Multimedia Corp. has announced that it has developed its new portable media player (PMP) that wirelessly accesses the Sideshow feature in Microsoft's ( News - Alert) Windows Vista operating system.

The new Sideshow enabled product utilizes the Preface media platform by NVIDIA which supports Windows Sideshow.
A new technology in Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system, Windows Sideshow offers a secondary screen on your mobile PC. Irrespective if your laptop is on, off, or in sleep mode, you can view important information with this additional display. To extend information from your computer to other devices, Windows Sideshow uses gadgets, convenient mini programs similar to software plug-ins. This saves both time and battery life for the users.
Robert Lott, CEO of DnC Multimedia said in a press release, “The wireless Sideshow-accessibility of our portable media player (PMP) is a significant step towards the merging of MP3, video, and personal computer technology. Consumers benefit through enhanced convenience, connectivity, and features. DNC has developed this product utilizing the new NVIDIA chipset, enabling the PMP to wirelessly access Microsoft's Sideshow functionality. In certain markets, there have been examples of non-wireless Sideshow-enabled devices built into the exterior of a laptop that have sold out very quickly. However, we are particularly excited about our PMP, as management believes it will be the first such device to interface with Sideshow wirelessly.”
