SAS Institute Inc.’s SAS Forecast Server generates large quantities of high-quality forecasts quickly and automatically, enabling organizations to “turbo charge” their forecasting efforts and plan more effectively. The SAS Forecast Server operates in a three-tier environment, with a Windows-based client, Windows- or UNIX-based servers, and a Web tier.
The product chooses the best forecasting model from a large and extensible model repository optimizes the model parameters and produces the forecasts. When intervention is desired, users can modify or override models interactively – without programming – through the Forecast Studio GUI.
SAS Forecast Server operates as a standalone forecasting system or augments forecasting/demand planning/replenishment systems from other vendors. SAS Forecast Server is the only solution that automatically selects the business drivers, holidays or events that affect the forecasting process from any number of variables supplied to the system. Its forecasts better reflect the business, requiring less manual intervention and fewer management overrides.
