VMIC Enhances Its 333MHz SBC
VMIC has enhanced its high-performance Pentium II processor-based VMEbus SBC by offering up to 512Mb of SDRAM, the VMIVME-7695. This high-end SBC brings 333MHz Pentium II processing power to VMEbus in a single slot. In addition, this product provides flash-disk capability with the M-Systems's DiskOnChip 2000 flash disk. The DiskOnChip 2000 can be used as boot flash memory, or it can be installed by the BIOS as an additional standard drive. No additional software is required. This SBC also supports diskless operations with booting from Ethernet or flash.

Lucent Launches DSL Platform
Addressing the exploding market for Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) services, Lucent Technologies today announced a new carrier-class DSL platform that will allow service providers for the first time to offer business and residential customers the highest quality of voice over DSL - along with high-speed data, Internet and video services - all over one copper connection. Called Stinger, Lucent's breakthrough DSL access concentrator offers industry-leading Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities, enabling service providers to prioritize voice services while delivering dedicated access to bandwidth-hungry data services at the same time. Stinger's advanced features enable it to deliver voice traffic over DSL with the same high quality and reliability that customers expect today.

InfoInterActive Teams With RADVision
InfoInterActive (IIA) announced that it has teamed with RADVision to improve its Voice over IP (VoIP) solution for Internet Call Manager (ICM). Using RADVision technology and open standards such as H.323, IIA's new gatekeeper improves the routing of calls across IP-based telephony networks, allowing more capacity and better margins for ICM service providers. For example, IIA's solution allows national ICM service providers to avoid placing servers at the edge of the network, or transporting all calls to centralized data centers, providing cost savings. IIA is partnering with market leaders such as Cisco and RADVision to provide versions of Internet Call Manager for an ever-increasing number of network scenarios.

Analog Devices Announces T1-On-A-Chip
Analog Devices, today announced a chip that enables a new level of communications capacity for networking and remote access equipment. The new ADSP-21mod980 contains 24 ports, the equivalent of a T1 communications line, achieving the highest level of density in the industry with a single integrated circuit. The new high-density Internet access solution enables the convergence of voice and data networks through a unique ability to configure any port for any protocol. Ziatech Partners With Lynx For Operating System Support
Ziatech and Lynx Real Time Systems announced a partnership designed to provide enhanced applied computing solutions integrating Ziatech's CompactPCI computers and the "hard real-time" capabilities of the LynxOS for high-end communications equipment. Ziatech will offer the Lynx operating system as an option to several of its CompactPCI single board computer and development platforms, which are integrated into a variety of telecommunications and Internet infrastructure equipment. Coyote Signs Distribution Agreement with Ericsson
Coyote Technologies has announced it has signed a distribution agreement with Ericsson Inc. (Nasdaq: ERICY) allowing Coyote to market a carrier-class "networked" Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution, which consists of Ericsson's IPT 1.6 IP Telephony Solution and Coyote's DSS Switch, to carriers and Internet service providers (ISPs). Coyote's "networked" VoIP solution will enable carriers and ISPs flexible routing of voice, fax and data traffic over legacy circuit- and IP-based packet networks using the public switched telephone network (PSTN), virtual private networks and/or the InternetEricsson's IPT 1.6 is a high-capacity platform that enables carriers to offer worldwide IP telephony voice services as well as fax over IP. A highly reliable and scalable system, IPT 1.6 is standards-based and is commercially available now. The IPT 1.6 is being deployed by carriers around the world with T1, E1 and SS7 interfaces to the PSTN.

Network Instruments Provides Analysis Tools

Connex Intros Suite Of Internet Conferencing Services
Connex International has introduced a range of Internet services that include Connex Presents, e-Message, and Online Archiving. Connex Presents, an Internet presentation tool, reinforces teleconferences with live, real-time slide presentations using the Internet. PairGain, Jetstream Sign Voice Over DSL Agreement
PairGain Technologies announced that it has signed an agreement with Jetstream Communications to incorporate Jetstream's Voice over DSL (VoDSL) technology into future PairGain CPE equipment. The technology integration will enable PairGain's existing VoDSL products to support both next-generation voice services, as well as traditional POTS. All voice traffic delivered to the public switched telephone network will arrive via Jetstream's CPX-1000 Voice Gateway. This combination enables PairGain to offer both ILECs and CLECs VoDSL products that maximize the revenue potential from advanced integrated voice and data DSL services and minimize the use of expensive network facilities.

Interspeed Announces Support For IP Multicast Over DSL
Interspeed, a Brooktrout company, announced support for IP multicast services over DSL networks. This support will enable service providers to expand their product offerings using their existing Interspeed DSL platform and help increase revenue generation potential, while simultaneously reducing overall equipment and network management costs. Interspeed's family of single box DSL Access Routers (DSLARs), including the new Interspeed DART support IP multicast, which is enabled through the DSLARs' integration, which includes complete Layer 2 switching and IP routing. Since these capabilities are build into the DSLARs, Interspeed can route digital information to the appropriate network using advanced IP multicast protocols, including Internet Gateway Multicast (IGMP) and Multicast Open Shortest Past First (MOSPF).

Path 1 Releases First Product For Field Trials
