PairGain Launches Skyrocket G.Lite Modems
PairGain Technologies has launched their Skyrocket DSL modems. Fully compliant with the G.lite standard, Skyrocket modems incorporate G.hs (G.handshake) and "fast retrain," two capabilities deemed critical to the widespread deployment of G.lite. G.hs and fast retrain are key elements of the ITU standards intended to make G.lite modems as user-friendly as today's analog modems. G.hs allows G.lite modems to automatically negotiate speed and connect to a DSLAM at the highest possible data rate, while fast retrain lets the modems quickly adjust to the line conditions to handle the presence of a voice signal.
