Jaybeam Wireless has announced new wide band 700 / 800 MHz dual polarized base station panel antennas. Operating over the full 695-896 MHz frequency  band, these new antennas allow Auction 73 winners to deploy new 700 MHz services at existing 800 MHz cell sites without increasing the number of visible antennas per sector.
Jaybeam Wireless North America Product Manager, Eric Miller ( News - Alert) said in a statement that the new 700 MHz antennas are packaged inside Jaybeam’s existing X65 Tri-band antenna profile.
He added that this is not only a field proven design that they can produce in high volume but also a platform that can be quickly adapted to incorporate 1710-2170 MHz arrays for PCS or AWS applications.
The company’s new wide band antennas are the same size as typical single band 800 MHz dual polarized antennas. Jaybeam Wireless believes that in many cases customers will be able to remove an existing single band antenna and replace it with a wide band 700 MHz antenna without any change in the appearance of the site and without impacting the current lease agreement. Operators will thus be able to quickly and cost-effectively deploy new services using 700 MHz spectrum.
Jaybeam Wireless is a manufacturer of base station antenna solutions. Earlier this year, The company unveiled new antenna products for GSM900, UMTS900, GSM1800, UMTS2100 and WiMAX network operators. The products include Remote Azimuth Steering (RAS) antennas, GSM900-UMTS900 antennas & combiners, Embedded TMA antennas, “Slimline” Tri-Band antennas and environmentally friendly Tri-sector antenna solutions.
