Verso Technologies has signed a worldwide reseller agreement with Nortel ( News - Alert). As per the agreement Nortel will be able to sell Verso products through out the world.
Verso said in a press release that the provisions in the agreement allow for Verso to offer product installations, support and maintenance for Nortel and its customers besides other services. Verso Technologies ( News - Alert) provides next generation network solutions.
Steve Odom, Verso’s chairman and chief executive officer said, “Verso has several products designed to optimize and enhance VoIP over WiMAX ( News - Alert) capabilities. We have completed a rigorous testing process with Nortel and our global sales team has been working towards this day for some time.”
“I’m pleased to announce that Nortel has decided to begin using Verso products to further enhance their WiMAX offering,” added Odom.
The agreement enables Nortel to reduce the cost of ownership of end to end voice over WiMAX solutions due to the fully integrated converged billing solution suited for voice and WiMAX services.
Verso clarified that the solution uses the Verso Vclear Application Server along with Nortel’s next generation Communication Server 2000 IP softswitch. This will deliver pre-paid voice services to Nortel’s WiMAX solution besides all other access technologies.
Mark Dunaway, president and chief operating officer of Verso said, “This agreement and relationship is validation of our strategy to partner with the highest quality organizations to serve the emerging WiMAX market.”
Dunaway continued, “This agreement comes along with a purchase order and allows for Verso to expand our relationship with Nortel over time as we continue to work closely with them and serve their needs. This is yet another example of Verso solutions adding value to WiMAX network infrastructure manufacturers and service providers.”
