Alvarion ( News - Alert) Ltd., a provider of WiMAX and wireless broadband solutions, has announced that Costa Rica’s government authorized operator RACSA, has chosen to deploy their 4Motion solution.
RACSA will utilize Alvarion's solution to offer extended wireless access services to enterprises and consumers in the major cities of Costa Rica. Alvarion has chosen Coasin, an integrator of next generation IT and Communication Technologies, as its local partner for the project.
With the BreezeMAX platform as its radio access network (RAN), Alvarion's 4Motion solution operates at 3.5 GHz. This capability will enable RACSA to provide seamless high-speed voice and data services to subscribers in the dense as well as remote areas of Costa Rica.
In fact, 4Motion is at the heart of Alvarion's all-IP OPEN WiMAX ( News - Alert) ecosystem that bundles up BreezeMAX with high-tech systems for designing an operator-centric network solution for WiMAX. Alvarion’s strength in WiMAX and its rapid time-to-market advantage has made it the first choice for RACSA.
"As we expand our WiMAX network deployments in Latin America, we welcome RACSA's project for the 3.5 GHz frequency using our WiMAX solution," said Tzvika Friedman president and CEO of Alvarion. "Our OPEN WiMAX strategy enables RACSA to provide its growing list of subscribers with innovative wireless network solutions anywhere, anytime, and at affordable prices."
