The Paradise Valley Unified School District (PVUSD), encompassing a 98-square mile area in Phoenix, recently selected Ceragon Networks (News - Alert) Ltd. to provide wireless Ethernet solutions to support IPTV, VoIP, and eLearning applications.
Ceragon will render these solutions to the school district through Network Infrastructure Corporation (NIC (News - Alert)), a leading converged IP solutions provider. The aid from Ceragon and NIC will encourage the school district in developing its own network, thereby delivering enhanced bandwidth, reliability, and prompt return on investment (ROI).
PVUSD will employ Ceragon’s Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet solutions for linking its elementary, middle, and high schools to the District Administration Center. It stands to benefit from the sophisticated communications and eLearning applications offered by this integration. It is estimated that this project can fetch Ceragon more than $1 million in revenue.
Jeff Billings, director of technology for the PVUSD, said in a statement, “Thanks to Ceragon Networks integrated solution provided by CDW (News - Alert)-G/NIC, Paradise Valley Unified School District will gain inter-site connectivity, greater network capacity and improved availability, all with an anticipated cost savings as we will no longer need to pay to lease T-1 lines to connect our school district network.”
“Our students and teachers will enjoy an improved educational experience through advanced communications, IPTV (News - Alert), and eLearning applications,” Billings added.
Ira Palti, president and CEO, Ceragon Networks Ltd., stated, “The Paradise Valley Unified School District is a perfect example of how Ceragon's wireless networking technology is being used to replace costly leased T1/E1 lines, reduce dependence on telcos and expedite return on investment.”
