AT&T announced upgrades to AT&T (News - Alert) Park’s Giants Digital Dugout, which is an interactive, in-stadium site for San Francisco Giant fans. The Digital Dugout provides a unique experience with its applications and exclusive content delivered across the ballpark over complimentary AT&T Wi-Fi access to all visitors with a Wi-Fi enabled device.

 

The recent upgrades include a new smartphone-friendly interface and a new feature including Food Finder, which locates the nearest concession stand for hungry Giant fans.

 

The FanCaptions feature provides closed captioning of PA announcements to facilitate hearing-impaired patrons. The Pitch Tracker feature allows fans to enjoy live pitch tracking, score updates and statistics with courtesy to MLB.com.

 

Games, is an upgrade, which includes Base Runner, Match Game and Buzz! for challenging and entertaining baseball fans with creative and innovative activities. Also the Video Content Library provides a collection of player interviews including also the great moments in the history of the Giants.

 

“The Digital Dugout is really changing the game for Giants fans at AT&T Park,” said Bill Schlough, San Francisco Giants chief information officer, in a statement. “We strive to provide an outstanding entertainment experience for each and every one of our ballpark guests, and thanks to AT&T, we have been able to make their visits even more interactive and memorable.”

 

Fans will get to experience detailed aspects of the game and have instant access via Wi-Fi access to information, making this unique when compared to a regular sports game. Wi-Fi access at sports venues offers a combination of a real-life virtue of being there and also watching instant replay and game stats on TV, the company said.

 

AT&T Wi-Fi Services provides access at other sports venues, including AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, and Quicken Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

 

“Wi-Fi access is the perfect way to reach fans when they’re enjoying a game,” said Angie Wiskocil, senior vice president for AT&T Wi-Fi Services. “With the rising popularity of smartphones and other handheld devices offering Wi-Fi access, fans are craving more ways to connect with the game they love, and sports venues have an opportunity to engage fans even more deeply.”

 

AT&T Park is a sports facility which provides universal Wi-Fi connectivity with the Digital Dugout. It also features the AT&T Wi-Fi replay application which enables fans to watch the best instances of the game from multiple angles instantly.  

 

Besides the new Digital Dugout interface built for smartphone users, the company has installed 139 Wi-Fi access points at the park for faster data transmission rates.
