Wireless Matrix reportedly has extended the contract with satellite service provider

Wireless Matrix specializes in enterprise-class wireless data solutions required in business-critical mobile and remote asset operations. The company provides real-time data services through cellular, satellite and WiFi (

Alert) networks, and it offers different types of modems, hardware platforms and transportation applications for boosting productivity and cutting operating expenses.
Satellite customers of Wireless Matrix now are expected to receive communication services without interruption. SkyTerra’s data services are integrated with cellular data through modems that help optimize Wireless Matrix’s vehicle management solutions. The effective coverage area of fleet operations is bolstered by bringing in satellites to connect dispatchers with vehicles operating in cellular-proof areas. Technician safety and also productivity increase also are assured.
“This agreement paves the way for Wireless Matrix to extend valuable next generation broadband satellite services to our customers,” said J. Richard Carlson, Wireless Matrix president and chief executive officer. “We are pleased to renew what has been a highly successful relationship with SkyTerra. The new agreement provides business continuity and future capabilities to our satellite and multimode users.”
Susan Miller, senior vice president of Satellite Services for SkyTerra, said that the service extension agreement will help Wireless Matrix continue to deliver efficient and real-time mobile wireless communications services for its enterprise customers. Both companies will continue working together, with SkyTerra planning to advance to the next-generation satellite-terrestrial communications network, she said.
