P.T. Solusi Tunas Pratama (STP), a cellular distribution systems provider in Indonesia has reportedly selected ADC’s FlexWave Prism outdoor DAS solutions to deliver cost-effective, high-performance GSM, CDMA, and UMTS cellular coverage in Jakarta, Indonesia.

 

New Solution will enable Indonesia to have a better network coverage that eliminates the requirement of macro cell towers, and also addresses the Indonesian government’s mandate to improve public safety and eliminate visual clutter in Jakarta.

 

DAS solutions will also facilitate local cellular providers to support traffic for value-added services such as police surveillance cameras and Wi-Fi networks.

 

“We held a competitive bidding process and we selected ADC (News - Alert) because it offered the most cost-effective and efficient solution, along with a strong local support organization,” said Nobel Tanihaha, president and CEO for STP. “With the ability to support multiple cellular operators and services with single set of remote antennas, the FlexWave Prism system was far more efficient than the others we evaluated.”

 

The new deployment will cover the very dense and capacity-strained central business district of Jakarta and each remote will managed from a centralized base station for Indonesia’s major cellular providers.

 

The new system will support three different services such as GSM 1800MHz, UMTS 2100MHz, and CDMA 850MHz, a capability that helps reduce operational costs for STP by configuring the remote network to support multi-sector single operators or multi-operator microcell applications.

 

Tony LeFebvre, director of product management for outdoor DAS products for ADC said that company’s FlexWave Prism system is known for delivering high capacity, high service flexibility, and a low total cost of operation.
