CinTel Corp Wins Exclusive Contract to Market Digifriend's Mobile WiMAX

By Beverly Maniago, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Cintel Corp, which deals in Internet Traffic Management Systems, has reportedly signed an exclusive agreement with Digifriends Co., Ltd., that grants Cintel the exclusive right to market and sell 4th generation WIMAX technologies to the US and European markets.

The agreement also includes co-marketing and co-development for sales over the next three years. The agreement will help Digifriends Co., Ltd., achieve its objective of playing a pivotal role in digital media broadcasting arena.

Mobile WIMAX enables broadband speeds using wireless networks. It is said to be a cost-effective technology for delivering mobile broadband – even to remote locations. Research studies predict that mobile WIMAX will grow in popularity and will reach 20 million users by 2010.

Gregori Park, Digifriends’ CEO, is optimistic about the new partnership.

“I am excited to establish this alliance with CinTel (News - Alert) which has a proven track record in developing and marketing other innovative technology products, such as Internet traffic management (ITM) products and semiconductor products,” he said in a press release. “Through this alliance, I am confident that CinTel can extend our reach. I think CinTel’s experience and established network in global business will be very helpful for Digifriends. CinTel will also play a critical role in investor relations and funding for our company. Digifriends will continue to focus on R&D and our hopes of being a global leader in WiMAX and associated technologies with the help of CinTel.”

Sang-Don Kim, the CEO and president of CinTel Corp. is equally optimistic.

“We are quite pleased to enter this Mobile WiMAX business - one of the most highly anticipated business areas today, through this alliance,” he said. “As said before, CinTel continues to expand and move forward into new business areas that have sufficient market potential and high-returns. We think 2007 will be a great chance to grow with the Mobile WiMAX market. This alliance will be an excellent opportunity for CinTel to grow with Digifriends.”

Mobile WIMAX enables a user with a WiMAX-enabled device to connect to the Internet anywhere. In fact, it lets a user connect even if they are moving at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. In addition, it is a cost effective technology to deploy, because it has long range and therefore involves minimal cabling and network infrastructure. WIMAX is Sprint (News - Alert) Nextel’s technology of choice for its 4th generation communication platform.
