CPEi 775 combines a Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) 802.16e modem with an integrated Wireless Fidelity (WiFi (

According to Motorola, the new product, which connects WiFi devices to a WiMAX (

Following its predecessor model CPEi 850, CPEi 775 once again raises the bar on performance for the rest of the industry, says the company. Motorola has used advanced antenna designs and adaptive switching techniques in CPEi 775. The device does not need to be rotated for optimal signal strength, so it can be installed easily.
The new design also enables CPEi 775 to offer high-quality device transmit power and receive sensitivity—two factors, which, according to Motorola, have a big impact on a network operator's bottom line and the number of cells required to provide coverage.
“As mobile WiMAX networks proliferate globally service providers are looking for ways to leverage the speed and performance of WiMAX for more advanced services,” said Charles Riggle, senior director of strategy and business development, WiMAX devices, Motorola Home & Networks Mobility, in a statement.
“It takes considerable know-how to put two different radio technologies together in a single package with internal antennas and not suffer from interference or degraded throughput,” Riggle added. “With the CPEi 775, we are able to provide high performance in a very attractive form factor.”
CPEi 775’s simple plug-and-play installation and over-the-air software upgrade capabilities lead to reduced support costs and greater customer satisfaction, Riggle said.
“Multimedia-dependent consumers keep a close eye on the evolving capabilities of wireless broadband and increase their expectations at a rapid pace: not just more, faster data, but data wherever, however, and whenever they want it,” Riggle added.
Motorola wi4 WiMAX CPEi 775 features a sleek design and ultra-thin form factor. It is available in a variety of color choices. It is WiMAX ForumWave 2 ready and is currently available in the 3.5 GHz band with support for the 5MHz, 7MHz, and 10 MHz bandwidths, Motorola said.
