ITC^DeltaCom, providing integrated communications services to customers in the southeastern United States, today revealed that thanks to completion of its Infinera ( News - Alert) DTN optical network systems deployment, its network upgrade is ahead of schedule.
With the DTN deployment, Deltacom ( News - Alert) extends its high capacity GigE, 2.5Gbps and 10Gbps wavelength services availability to a variety of new markets across the Southeast.
GigE, 2.5Gbps and 10Gbps wavelength services are now available in the following new markets: Wilsonville and Mobile, Alabama; Savannah, Augusta ( News - Alert) and two additional carrier hotels in Atlanta, Georgia; Lake City, Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Ocala, Archer and Pensacola, Florida; Columbia and Greenville, South Carolina; and Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh, North Carolina.
The company plans on finishing the deployment of additional SONET equipment and building out a number of metro markets by mid-year 2009.
"We were able to complete the DTN deployment a month earlier than originally planned," said Tony Tomae, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Deltacom. "This rapid system deployment is a great indicator of the speed and scalability in which we can deliver GigE and Wavelength services to our Interstate FiberNet carrier customers and to our multi-site business customers across the Southeast."
