Cisco, a networking and communications company announced its Consumer Business Group's holiday Wish List, a collection of Wireless-N routers that will facilitate families to connect and share their holiday moments no matter where they are.

 

The Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N routers are developed by Linksys, a division of Cisco (News - Alert). These routers are advanced technology, which are designed to increase the speed of the network connectivity and as well virtually eliminate dead spots. These Wireless-N routers will help consumers create a media-enabled home.

 

"The Ultra RangePlus family of Wireless-N routers offers superior performance to 'connect' your family over the upcoming holiday season," said Greg Memo, vice president and general manager, Cisco Consumer Business Group. "Utilizing Wireless-N technology, Mom can send large-file photos of the family dinner to Grandpa, while Junior talks with his friends over the internet and Dad catches up on the latest football video highlights -- all with extended range and enhanced speed."

 

The collection of Linksys (News - Alert) by Cisco’ Wireless-N routers include - Ultra RangePlus broadband router, Ultra RangePlus Gigabit router, and Ultra RangePlus simultaneous dual-N band Wireless router.

 

The Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router (WRT160N) increases wireless coverage. It can be used while on the go for connecting with long-distance family. It incorporates three devices in one box that include - wireless access point that enables user to connect to the network without wires; built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 switch to connect user’ wired-Ethernet devices together; and router function that integrates all together and lets user’ whole network to share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. The installation is automated for both Windows and Mac users and even the management and repair of the network is much easier.

 

The Ultra RangePlus Gigabit Router (WRT310N) offers gigabit connection speeds. Consumers who own powerful PCs with Gigabit Ethernet ports, or those who intend to have advancement in the Media Enabled Home, can experience this router. Also featuring a wireless access point along with built-in 4-port full-duplex Gigabit switch, users will be able to connect wired-Ethernet devices together and as well experience high speed connectivity.

 

The Ultra RangePlus Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router (WRT610N) is an entertainment router for faster gaming, music, and high-definition video streaming. It is based on dual-N band technology and utilizes both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless spectrums simultaneously.

 

All the three Wireless routers feature multiple radios per band, in order to create robust signals for maximum range and speed, with reduced dead spots. The Wireless signals are protected by wireless encryption, thereby protecting the network from Internet attacks using SPI firewall, says company.
