Xirrus has deployed 802.11abg+n Wi-Fi Arrays at
Impress Communications’ energy efficient printing facility located in Chatsworth, California.
As companies discover the benefits of maintaining and transferring large files digitally, they are increasingly depending on modern technology. Impress Communications wanted to wirelessly transfer large art files and hence, upgraded to Xirrus 802.11n.
Although companies like Impress Communications are attracted by the wireless communications methodologies, they often worry about the drop in performance when compared to the wired networks. Although various Wi-Fi vendors promise to deliver wired replacement products, their networks lack the bandwidth, throughput, and user density to achieve this quality.
“We changed to Xirrus because their Wi-Fi Arrays give us the coverage, bandwidth, and throughput required by our graphic artists with the least amount of product,” said Paul Marino, executive director at Impress Communications. “By using Xirrus 802.11abg+n Wi-Fi Arrays instead of competitive offerings, we use 4X less switch ports, 4X less cable runs, and will end up managing 4X fewer devices.
Xirrus says that with the help of their unique architecture, only Xirrus Wi-Fi Array can effectively replace switching to the desktop. The company says it has set several industry records with its Wi-Fi Array deployment. This includes the records for most concurrent users in a single room (2,890), the most concurrent users on a single device (562), and the most Wi-Fi bandwidth in a single room (9.7Gbps).
While Xirrus achieved all this with the help of 12 devices, it can now deliver up to 4.8Gbps of bandwidth for hundreds of users on a single device with the introduction of 802.11abg+n Wi-Fi Arrays.
Recently,
Cellynne Corporation also
deployed Xirrus 802.11abg+n Wi-Fi Arrays across its Florida headquarters and manufacturing facility. The new 802.11n network supports mission-critical Wi-Fi-enabled computers, PDA/scanners, and IP phones along with our new Just-In-Time Inventory Management System.
Impress Communications has won numerous awards, including Environmental Excellence (environmentally conscious manufacturing) and the Gold Ink Award (best printing in North America based on print quality, technical difficulty, and overall visual effectiveness).
