Wireless industry veteran, Manish Jha has joined envIO networks as president and chief executive officer.

 

“I’m very pleased to join envIO at an exciting point in the company’s history,” said Jha in a statement. He noted that the deployment and maturity of envIO’s product have coincided with the acceleration of convergence of mobile and social networking.

 

With eighteen years experience in general management, strategy and operations relating to new media, Jha sees a tremendous opportunity for mobile operators and content owners to leverage social marketing of mobile content and believes envIO is well positioned to lead the market in this area.

 

envIO’s co-founder and previous CEO, Prakash Iyer, will remain on the company’s Board of Directors and will serve as envIO’s chief technology officer.

He pointed out that their company is focused on effective discovery and monetization of mobile content and is confident that Jha is well suited to lead the company to fully capitalize on this opportunity.

A seasoned veteran of the mobile content industry, Jha most recently served as the CEO at Vantrix Corporation, where he worked on media transformation in the carrier and content markets. He spent over 16 years at ESPN prior to Vantrix and launched and led multiple new media ventures for the company. He held the position of senior vice president and general manager of ESPN (News - Alert) Mobile, and oversaw all of ESPN's mobile efforts.
