The m2mGlobal Alliance, a network of regional machine-to-machine (M2M) service providers, has formed its global M2M wireless network to provide unified, seamless network for delivering M2M applications across the globe.
The alliance is likely to put an end to some of the current issues involving accessing overseas markets. Accessing overseas markets has meant either the use of roaming-based services with long-term serviceability and tariff considerations, or individual negotiation with multiple local service provider agreements.
The m2mGlobal Alliance will provide the transparent delivery of Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) M2M connectivity solutions in world markets, enabling application service providers to offer M2M applications at cost effective rates through many parts of the world.
Founding members of global M2M wireless network are KORE Telematics, Wireless Maingate, Mach Communications and Vianet. M2M network providers are located in North America, Australia, the UK, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.
Each member has a significant presence, exclusively focused on delivering Direct Connect M2M services in its own markets. The m2mGlobal Alliance members can immediately service needs in countries such as North America, Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Ireland, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands, in addition to more than 135 roaming markets.
“M2M applications are now becoming increasingly important to the ongoing activities of user companies and there is growing need to use these internationally,” said Robin Duke-Woolley, CEO Beecham Research. “As a result, global service with local customer support is the new mantra. Global service with local support combines the reach and low cost point required with the need for rapid response to what are often critical applications.”
“The m2mGlobal Alliance was created to help global M2M application providers more quickly and cost effectively expand their services overseas,” said Alex Brisbourne, president and COO, KORE Telematics. “M2M applications are being adopted across the globe by a number of different vertical markets to better monitor assets and improve processes.
“With the m2mGlobal Alliance, M2M application providers can ensure that their customers will have access to reliable wireless network coverage across the globe,” added Brisbourne.
