Syniverse Technologies has announced that Saudi Telecom (

Association's (GSMA) October 2008 deadline for member companies.
STS will earn corresponding one-to-one increases in operator profitability because of the reduced revenue losses due to roaming
fraud. Also, it will provide more secure roaming for its subscribers.
To ensure data records that track subscriber roaming activity are exchanged between home and visited operators quickly, STC will use Syniverse (

Syniverse DataNet is a solution developed in conformance with the GSMA's Near Real-Time Roaming Data Exchange (NRTRDE) initiative.
As the International Revenue Share Fraud increases and operators feel the need to know how their networks are operating against the fraud, GSMA developed the NRTRDE standard.
NRTRDE effectively closes the roaming fraud window that currently is open on operator networks that use HUR by necessitating the visited (roaming) network to forward call data records to the subscriber's home operator within four hours of the call end time. In case the visited operator does not information to the home operator in time and a fraud occurs, the visited operator will be liable for the same.
Syniverse chairs both the GSMA Transferred Account Data Interchange Group (TADIG) and NRTRDE Interworking Group (NRTIG). Syniverse’s DataNet NRTRDE solution makes sure that operators are complying with the new GSMA standard.
Mohamed Alageel, General Manager of Information Technology at Saudi Telecom, Aljawal, STC, said in a press release, “STC plays a leading role in the growing Middle Eastern mobile market, and we have been proactive in providing the most secure roaming environment that we can for subscribers. Syniverse was the clear choice for this vital project because it has the necessary roaming systems experience coupled with an outstanding roaming fraud solution developed to be the new benchmark for anti-fraud excellence.”
The Syniverse other services used by STC include ACCESS S&E GSM Clearinghouse Services, MMS Interworking Gateway (
