Trustive has announced it is now a member of the WiMAX Forum, an industry-led organization that promotes the interoperability and certification of WiMAX ( News - Alert) products.
Trustive will be joining the WiMAX Forum Global Roaming Working Group to help develop industry-wide roaming standards. The company will also share its experiences of providing Wi-Fi roaming services to Telefonica, Vodafone ( News - Alert) and over 70 other hotspot operators worldwide.
According to reports, Trustive is also taking an active role in the development of roaming between WiMAX networks and GSM and 3G roaming partners.
In addition, Trustive will be working closely with the WIMAX Forum to help ensure the establishment of common roaming standards for WiMAX technology.
"WiMAX presents a great opportunity for network operators and roaming will play a key role in its growth,” said Bram Jan Streefland, co-founder and managing director of Trustive. “Being part of the WiMAX Forum will enable Trustive to remain at the forefront of the WiMAX roaming standard debate."
The WiMAX Forum is a not-for-profit organization comprising of more than 490 companies including 157 operators committed to promoting and certifying interoperable WiMAX products. WiMAX products are designed to deliver wireless broadband services to both residential customers and businesses by creating economies of scale made possible by standards-based, interoperable products and services.
