Florida State University’s Don Veller Seminole Golf Course will install GPS Industries’ state-of-the-art Inforemer HDX display units on their new fleet of 76 Yamaha Drive electric golf carts.
GPS Industries’ Inforemer system provides 10.4-inch cart-mounted display screens and clubs like Seminole, a comprehensive suite of management software applications that streamline operations and integrated WiFi
communications network turning the entire facility into a wireless hot-spot.
“We are very pleased that Florida State University and the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course have chosen our Inforemer system,” said GPS Industries vice president of Sales, Jim Colson in a statement.
Colson emphasized that Florida is a very important market for their golf management solutions. GPS Industries has just recently strengthened their sales presence in that market and are already seeing significant results. He believes this deal is an illustration of that fact.
Tim Melloh, general manager of Seminole Golf Course & Club believes the Inforemer system is clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. The system was chosen for its sophistication and the unique marketing program that makes it much more affordable to obtain.
Melloh explained that the Inforemer system addresses a common problem on many heavily used courses around the country, speed of play. The unique system enables the golf shop staff to monitor play and help people waiting to tee off, in the fairway, or on the green receive accurate information on how to move along the course in a timely manner.
GPS Industries’ Inforemer system is seen as a valuable learning tool for FSU’s Dedmond School of Hospitality’s Professional Golf Management program. GPSI’s Colson points out that not only do they add a top-notch golf facility to their roster, this deal also connects them with a well-respected Professional Golf Management program.
Colson said that through informational seminars and on-site workshops they can educate the course operators of tomorrow to the advantages of running a facility with a state-of-the-art WiFi (
