KORE Telematics recently announced its co-sponsorship of the new Beecham Research report titled, “Business Opportunities from Remote Device Management: Adopter Survey 2008.”
Beecham Research carried out the survey of machine-to-machine (M2M) adopters in the months of August and September 2008, and received over 260 responses from an assorted cross-section of companies spread across different markets and extensive geographic regions. While almost 50 percent of responses were derived from companies that made less than $10 million in annual sales, around a fifth of the responses were represented by companies which made over $1 billion in annual sales.

“The Beecham Research survey furthers the feedback we hear every day from our partners, who rely on our M2M services to drive their business advantages,” said Alex Brisbourne, president and chief operating officer of KORE Telematics. “KORE remains 100 percent focused on superior support for our M2M partners, powering innovative M2M applications that reduce costs, save energy and drive revenue growth.”
The survey is a mirror view of the dual bottom as well as the top line business impact of M2M networked solutions. The survey focused on the initial adopters of M2M remote device management and revealed that almost 82 percent of the respondents considered M2M as a critical factor contributing to the success of their company. The essential reasons for the adoption of M2M solutions were the need for the creation of new service opportunities and for driving competitive advantage. These two reasons indicate clearly the transition of monitoring from a passive to active business value creation.
“We see a great deal of activity in all business sectors worldwide towards implementing M2M to take advantage of new service opportunities,” said Robin Duke-Woolley, chief executive officer, Beecham Research. “Beecham Research strongly believes that companies that have not yet explored these possibilities are already at risk of severe competitive disadvantage.”
While realizing the importance of data integration and support for the success of the launch, deployment and lifecycle of an M2M solution, KORE has extended its assistance, via the KORE PRISM Gateway (News - Alert) platform which is a complete suite of management capabilities like business-ready Academic Performance Index (API) and a spectrum of reporting and performance management tools.
