Yang Zhirong, president of Huawei's Access Product Line explained in a statement that their company took the lead in introducing IP technology into access networks in 2001 by creating the world's first IP DSLAM equipment. He noted that Huawei has become a global leader in access networks with the transformation of the broadband DSLAM market from ATM-based to IP-based technology.
Huawei Technologies was recently in news when they signed a contract with Grameenphone Limited, a mobile operator in Bangladesh and a Telenor (News - Alert) subsidiary. In order to help Grameenphone meet growing capacity requirements, Huawei will be responsible for large-scale capacity expansion and enhancement of Next Generation GSM Core and Radio network.
