'Three-Conerstone Strategy' Pushes Axis Communications to the Top

The 2012 edition of the annual IMS Research report “The World Market for CCTV & Video Surveillance Equipment” is in line with Axis' (News - Alert) own estimates of growth, and increased market share in 2011, confirming the company's position as market leader in network, surveillance and analog cameras.

Axis' present position was a definite improvement over the previous year when it figured in the third position in the IMS report.

Ray Mauritsson, president and CEO at Axis Communications, was confident that the growth trend would continue into the present year and beyond, and predicted an average yearly growth of 25 percent in the coming years.

Mauritsson attributed the company's top position to its three-cornerstone strategy, involving the launch of innovative video products, an enhanced partner network and global expansion.

With more than two decades of experience in networking technologies, the largest installed base of network video products and strong partnerships with leading players across all continents, Axis is the partner of choice in network video.

Its network video solutions, based on an innovative, open technology platform, are responsible for the paradigm shift from analog to digital video surveillance. A broad spectrum of industry uses Axis' products for surveillance and remote monitoring applications.

The video surveillance market, especially in the developing countries, is also experiencing a shift from analog to IP, as digital cameras march over its analog counterparts.

A bright future for Axis is in store with IMS Research predicting an increase in network camera sales by 2016. At this point of time, these cameras will account for about 60 percent of total worldwide surveillance camera sales – an increase of 26 percent compared to sales figures of 2011.

Other news reports the provider of network video has launched AXIS Camera Companion, an entry-level IP video solution for small installations by the SMB segment of the Indian market. The service allows small business owners to use HDTV network cameras to help them clearly identify intruders, shoplifters and other incidents.

“India has the largest SMB base in the world, so we are thrilled to offer a solution that addresses the needs of this important segment," said Sudhindra Holla, India - country manager.
