Our 75th Issue

This edition of Internet Telephony® is our 75th issue. It represents in some measure the success of an industry that we have been covering since its inception in the late 1990’s. For all of the ups and downs over the years, Internet Telephony® has been faithfully covering the industry, evolving from a service provider genesis, to encompass the triumph of VoIP in the enterprise space, and more recently the rebirth of the service provider market.

This issue also represents the last copy of Internet Telephony® that will feature the layout and design we’ve all come to love over the past seven years. Beginning with our October issue, Internet Telephony® will undergo a redesign that will feature a fresher look and will also include some substantive changes to our monthly editorial lineup. Starting next month, we will break down our industry news into departments enabling us to more effectively cover the following industry segments: Service Provider; Enterprise; WiFi Telephony; VoIP Developer; IP Contact Center; SIP; and the Channel. And we will cover those market segments month in and month out.

But regardless of the changes on the outside, Internet Telephony® will maintain those elements that make it the industry’s leading magazine and indeed, the VoIP Authority since 1998.

We are still the only magazine in our space that is BPA audited. For those of you who have never heard of the organization, BPA Worldwide (www.bpai.com) provides verified audience data and media knowledge, performing circulation audits that provide solid assurance for both media owners and media buyers. BPA audits provide advertisers, agencies, and media owners with audience insights that they can turn into competitive advantage.

No other magazine dedicated to the VoIP space is BPA audited. These magazines can claim to have circulation numbers in the tens of thousands, but they have no way of proving it. Internet Telephony® proudly counts and verifies its subscribers and openly provides that information for all to see.

And, we’re growing too. Over the course of the next several issues, we’re growing our circulation upwards of 30 percent!

No other magazine covers the whole breadth of the industry from enterprise and service provider concerns, to regulation, to reseller opportunities, to new developer tools, to identifying exciting areas of untapped potential such as WiFi Telephony and WiMAX.

Also, no other magazine in our space can claim to have the longevity and industry experience that we do. We’ve been here since the beginning.

So enjoy this issue of Internet Telephony®, and don’t act surprised when you see the revamped October issue. It will still be the industry’s leading publication dedicated to all things VoIP. It will still be the online publication associated with TMCnet.com, the industry’s leading online news and information source. And it will still be the only magazine dedicated to delivering the high-quality editorial you’ve grown accustomed to over the past seven years.
