earlyCASE Adds Full Support for Lotus Notes and IBM Domino E-mail![]() TMCnet Contributing Editor earlyCASE has announced full support for Lotus Notes and IBM Domino e-mail files (NSF's) in its e-discovery early case assessment software.
A Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) Web-based e-discovery application, earlyCASE uses an on-demand deployment model that runs on local PCs to analyze the information that computers can access. All this happens without the data ever leaving the computer or network.
earlyCASE offers a number of benefits such as allowing people to see and understand data before it is processed for discovery. The solution has the ability to support multiple languages, can extract metadata, generate hash values, detect duplicates and also create a local inventory database of documents and e-mails. The company pointed out that each year companies spend millions of dollars reviewing and analyzing eDiscovery phases. The cost of processing and the time to review can be cut down many folds in the overall eDiscovery lifecycle provided the companies assess data early and reduce the sets of data going to review.
Tom Strack, CEO of earlyCASE, said that by quickly bringing a real understanding to the e-discovery process at the earliest moment, and the lowest cost they give clients a more realistic view into what data they have at stake. Data storage is continually increasing in size, and thus it is common to have terabytes of information to process and review, he explained.
Because earlyCASE has the ability to rapidly analyze that data and decrease the data sets that need to be reviewed, it lowers the eDiscovery budgets, and also manage their legal risk.
“earlyCASE can process the data without it ever leaving where it is stored, using your own people and equipment,” Strack said.
The company is currently offering earlyCASE in three versions: Basic, Professional and Enterprise. The free Basic version offers 25 high-quality e-discovery reports that help organizations to estimate their processing and review budget. This report also provides an immediate understanding of the data.
The Professional version is offered for $198 per run (unlimited data). With this version, a 26(f) report for meet and confer is made available in a bid to help clients cut down legal risk exposure. The report offers a view of the legal case information — custodians, context, third parties, and more.
earlyCASE Enterprise licenses start at $8,000 and according to the company is popular for features such as duplicate document detection, container processing (zip, rar, arc), and Lotus Notes NSF’s.
