YANGAROO Brings Faster Music Download Service

To improve its digital media distribution system, YANGAROO Inc. announced today that it’s added new features.

The DMDS is used by record labels to distribute songs digitally and securely to radio stations and other destinations throughout North America and the United Kingdom, according to the company.

“We are pleased to continue our collaborative efforts with DMDS users in enhancing our product offerings,” said Richard Klosa, chief technology officer at YANGAROO Inc. “This round of upgrades was in direct response from our customers. We will continue to keep them top of mind as we move forward with our aggressive development schedule.”

With the updates, users can now get faster downloads, as DMDS is now integrated with a high-speed and large capacity content delivery network. This allows the DMDS to faster download speeds of high-quality audio files to its customers, according to the company. Within DMDS, users can upload and utilize their own private distribution lists, with which new destinations for their content can be added for private or public use, company officials say.

With DMDS, it’s now easier to attach promotional materials like Word, Excel, MPEG, and PDF files when the record labels send out their deliveries, according to the company. Recipients get these attached files from notification emails and the DMDS Web site, officials say. Also, without installing the client side agent, users receive the same watermarked and secure files, which provide faster access to tracks.

With the Portable ‘Smart Playlists’ feature, offered by DMDS, music and program directors can use their playlists prior to weekly music meetings to share new tracks, company officials say. Allowing faster and easier access to tracks for some users, DMDS also facilitates the conversion of large WAV files. To allow quicker access for the new users to music through DMDS, the registration process has been streamlined.

DMDS provides important investment in infrastructure technology upgrades for routing, switching and network hardware. By this, users get benefits such as improved load balancing, redundancy and horizontal scalability, including additional servers, faster processing speed and expanded storage capacity. This investment is expected to support current and future growths. DMDS also provides seamless ingestion of new content into a radio station’s music library by integrating the Radio Broadcast Systems vendor OMT’s industry leading iMediaTouch software.
