Samsung Rolls Out Series 7 Plasma HDTVs with New Color Technology![]() TMCnet Contributing Editor Offering the ultimate form of “functional art” to consumers, Samsung (News - Alert) Electronics today unveiled the Series 7 Plasma HDTV, which features Samsung’s Touch of Color-designed bezel.
Instead of using spray paint, Samsung says it’s become the first manufacturer in the HDTV industry to use dual-injection molding technology which infuses color to the bezel. As a result of this, the bezel shows a natural gradation from red to black color by controlling the density of the color injection, according to the company. The Series 7 Plasma HDTVs provide a better Full HD1080p picture with up to a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, supported by Samsung’s Ultra FilterBright technology, according to the company. The Series 7 ensures optimal picture quality in any setting as it provides the option to calibrate the TV for both day-time and night-time viewing for the home theater connoisseur, company officials say.
For deeper blacks and purer whites onscreen, the Full HD 1080p Series 7 features a dynamic contrast ratio of up to 1,000,000:1. Consumers can get a picture that is clear and bright even in well-lit environments with Samsung’s Ultra Filter Bright anti-glare technology. Also, they can watch even the subtle details with the next-generation DNIe Pro video processing and 18-bit Natural True Color, company officials say.
The Series 7 Plasma HDTV features the one-button, on-demand InfoLink RSS service, officials say. InfoLink instantly displays news, weather and stock information onscreen via adjustable overlays, powered by content from USA Today.
It also provides various connection options to enjoy a growing library of digital content, Samsung officials say. All users need to do is to plug a memory drive or digital camera in the side-mounted USB 2.0 port and the WiseLink Pro turns the television into a jukebox or photo album. Users can also sort images based on usual parameters such as time and even more uncommon ones, including color and composition, company officials say.
“With the Series 7 plasma HDTV, Samsung looks to elevate consumers’ home theaters with a premier design and an encompassing viewing experience,” said Steve Panosian director of Visual Display Marketing at Samsung Electronics America. “By combining superior connectivity and networking options with the latest audio-visual technologies, the Series 7 Plasma is certain to further refine most any home theater setup.”
