Mobile Workforces Need Device Management Solutions

Associate Editor

Mobility has become an issue for most enterprises — and they all have their share of employees always on the go.  For them, their companies have purchased mobile devices, many of them Smartphones is this age of advanced technology.

But what these firms subsequently require is management of these handsets.  In order to successfully deploy a mobile campaign, an IT department must have the capability to support the phones.  Wireless Fulfillment Services LLC, a subsidiary of Brightpoint, Inc., has selected the Perlego Mobile Device Lifecycle Management Solution as a component of its Advanced Wireless Services offering, which will help enterprises solve that very issue.

Perlego’s Mobile Device Lifecycle Management solution provides everything required to deploy next generation devices quickly — backup, restore, data distribution, data wipe, remote control, and additional capabilities are provided over-the-air (OTA) to a wide variety of mobile devices.  The solution is compatible with mobile units running any of a number of operating systems, including Symbian, Microsoft (News - Alert), and Palm OSs.

The system is quickly installed, but provides carrier-class functionality and is scalable to more than 5,000 mobile devices.  With it, enterprises will see near-immediate ROI as their mobile workforces become more productive — they will experience less downtime and will be able to conduct business more quickly.  Starting with deployment, through the service life and transitioning to a new unit, Perlego has the functionality, flexibility, and affordability to address enterprises of all sizes.

"The ability to cost-effectively maintain and optimize a Smartphone throughout its useful life is critical to any enterprise that intends to utilize next-generation mobile devices as a competitive advantage," says Brightpoint AWS Vice President David Brown. "Perlego gives organizations the tools necessary to manage these phones without adding yet another layer of burden to the IT Manager.”
