Survey Reveals iPhone Users are Optimists, BlackBerry Users are Pessimists

By Jordan Eggers, Contributing Writer

A survey by Gazelle, the largest consumer electronics direct-to-consumer reCommerce service, revealed iPhone (News - Alert) users to be more optimistic in life versus Android or BlackBerry users.

Results for the survey came from show-floor attendees at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. According to a press release, the survey aimed to draw a correlation between one’s level of optimism or pessimism and the smartphone and tablet one owns.

As the results reported, approximately 29 percent of iPhone owners expect the best in certain times compared to Android users who only do 26 percent of the time. Research also showed that iPhone users were stronger in these current economic conditions.

The study also pointed to the fact that 33 percent of BlackBerry users hardly expect things to go their way while 36 percent of iPhone users say they hardy get upset easily.

With Steve Jobs (News - Alert) as the co-founder and former chief executive officer of Apple it makes sense as to why iPhone and iPad users would seem to be more optimistic in life. Most Apple (News - Alert) lovers are what you would consider early adopters; people who are absolutely passionate about Apple products, people who wait in lines hours before a product is released.

These people believed in Steve Jobs, his creations and his views towards life. A memorable quote from Steve Jobs during his commencement speech to graduates of Stanford University read:

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

However, although this interesting correlation has been made between smartphone users and their attitude towards life, it is not the first time iPhone has reigned supreme amongst consumers. In September a data analysts from Nielsen showed iPhone users were much happier than those who use Google (News - Alert) Android smartphones.

“Who knew that apple users had such a promising outlook on life, while BlackBerry owners hardly expect things to go their way?” said Israel Ganot, co-founder and CEO of Gazelle, about the CES results. “Our survey aimed to celebrate the passion many at CES have for their gadgets and the latest and greatest trends in consumer electronics.”
