Tech Mahindra Opens Lab for Performance Engineering in India

Tech Mahindra has opened a Performance Engineering Lab in Pune, India, for telecommunications and related fields.

The lab will focus on innovations, reduce time-to-market for products or services, and will assist in worker training, according to a report from 4-Traders.com.



The company said it is focusing in four areas: performance testing, monitoring, tuning and diagnosis for enterprise and telecom applications, 4-Traders adds. Performance monitoring includes such areas as cloud performance and analysis, according to 4-Traders.

“This innovation initiative … would focus on building pre-packaged solutions along with the technology partners,” Vineet Nayyar, CEO of Tech Mahindra was quoted by 4-Traders. “The solutions are innovative and new revenue models such as pay-per-use will bring immense value to the customers and partner eco-system.”

L.Ravichandran, president for IT Services, Tech Mahindra, added that the lab “is in line with our compelling value propositions and co-innovation culture for the telecom industry…Tech Mahindra and CA (News - Alert) [Technologies] have partnered in the application monitoring space and this will deliver enhanced benefits to our customers.”

CA APM is being employed in the lab to resolve performance problems “before end users are affected and assure service-delivery levels meet business objectives,” said Mike Sargent, general manager, Service Assurance, CA Technologies.

In other recent company news,Tech Mahindra partnered on policy control and LTE (News - Alert) with FTS, according to a report from TMCnet. FTS (News - Alert) provides customer care, billing and policy control for providers of communications and content services, TMCnet added.

Tech Mahindra, a systems integrator and consulting firm, saw $1,126.6 million in revenues during the fiscal year which ended on March 31, 2011. Tech Mahindra operates in over 31 countries with 17 sales offices and 15 delivery centers, according to information posted on the company’s website. They also have more 43,500 employees.

In addition, the company’s development centers are certified for ISO 9001:2008 and BS7799.
