If you’ve ever wished you were a celebrity, you may want to hold that thought.
According to news reports, an official with the Federal Bureau of Investigation said agents are investigating a “series” of computer hacking attacks on celebs.
“The FBI’s Laura Eimiller said Wednesday that dozens of celebrities had been targeted by hackers, who stole personal information from email and other computer accounts,” the Associated Press (News - Alert) reported, without providing many details.
However, the report also said several websites including celeb news site TMZ have identified one of the victims as actress Scarlett Johansson; a message left with her spokeswoman by the AP was not immediately returned.
No other details have come forward since FBI officials broke news of the investigation on Sept. 14. Stay with TMCnet as we follow the story as it unfolds.
