7 Tips For Beginners in Programming

Programming is the most popular profession. They develop sites, different apps, and games, such as PC games or slots (find out more about Playamo). Would you like to dive into this profession? Then these tips will help you.

Decide Your Language

Beginners are very tempted to start learning everything at once. Today you're making games in Unity, tomorrow you're designing sites, and at the weekend you're developing iOS apps in Swift (News - Alert). No matter how much you want to, you won't be able to learn it all. So, it's important to focus on one thing right from the start.

Remember that programming languages are just tools to choose from depending on your goals.

Don't Be Afraid to Ask Questions

Many people have a fear of asking a question and appearing stupid since high school or college. But now you're not in school, and there's no angry teacher in front of you. So, if there are questions, even if they seem the easiest, do not be afraid to ask them.

No Need to Get the Latest MacBook and 4k Resolution

You do not need the most powerful laptop in the world for programming. If you already have a PC, which is no more than 5-6 years old, it is quite suitable for creating websites and writing programs.

But if you are too itchy to spend money just upgrade your computer: buy some RAM (News - Alert) and SSD, it will be noticeably faster.

Don't Quit Your Job

You have already written your first hello world, and imagined yourself going to your boss, telling him all that you have accumulated over the years, and throwing your resignation letter on the table. The picture is undoubtedly tempting and beautiful, but you should not do it yet.

Suddenly, it turns out that programming is really not your field. But when you can already do test tasks for companies, and you have a resume of projects, you can think about leaving your current job.

Program Every Day

Once you have written a certain number of lines of code, make a note in your diary or use habit trackers for smartphones. There are quite good free versions for both iOS and Android (News - Alert). It is important that programming becomes as much of a daily routine as taking a morning shower or a meal.

You don't have to create a website or an app every day. Your job is to get used to programming and coding for at least 40 or 50 minutes a day. Even a little progress is always better than no progress at all.

Don't Become a Recluse

A dark basement, a beard, an old sweater, and a mountain of energy drink cans are long outdated stereotypes about programmers. Unfortunately, some people still imagine them this way.

If you have decided to do programming, this is no reason to lock yourself at home and not communicate with colleagues or other people. There are Discord chats, video conferencing, and more. It's easy to find like-minded people and take your mind off your studies. Besides, such communication can be useful. It's possible that in one of the chats you will come across a job offer.

Do Not Worry About Your Age

You can start programming at any age. A talented and hardworking professional, even if he is already over 40, will be accepted by any company. Modern advanced startups employ both young people and people of age. So, you have a high chance of getting your position. But for this, of course, you need to be able to do something.
