They might even inspire you to create a startup of your own.

1) Colombia

Colombia has been on the US Travel Advisory website at Level 2 for years, leading people to believe the nation is fraught with danger. However, the people of Colombia have been working extremely diligently to make their home a safer and technologically innovative place.

The Colombian government has launched massive reforms in its business regulations, allowing tech entrepreneurs to register their machines and products as collateral. There is also the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation that is in charge of providing resources for budding startups.

Crypto technology is also advancing rapidly in the country. Currently, there are 27 ATMs in the nation that offer crypto.

These changes have led businesses such as BairesDev, a custom software development company, to look to Colombia for its pool of software engineers and developers. The country is quickly becoming a hub for the leading thinkers in technology and software solutions.

2) Chile

A lot of South American governments are investing heavily in the technology sectors of their economies. Because of the rise in technology in Latin America, we have a lot of new software, hardware, and machines.

Chile is no exception to the boom of computer science. With a number one ranking for innovation on the Global Innovation Index, programs like Start-up Chile have allowed technology to flourish. Because of its position as the world leader, Chile has optimized electronic invoicing.

Chile also has one of the most expansive electronic bus fleet in the world, which allows entrepreneurs to travel often and reduces the country's carbon footprint.

3) Argentina

As the eighth largest world exporter of computer services, Argentina has made a name for itself in the tech industry. Though still part of the developing world, thirty million of the country's citizens have access to WiFi (News - Alert) in a population of forty-four million.

The newly passed Entrepreneur's Law in 2017 took the business registration process down to a single hour, after traditionally being 24 hours. The law allowed local and international techies to build a thriving community.

Because of the country's heavily agricultural economy, AgriTech is booming. Along with making strides with biotechnology, Argentina also has startups, such as S4, that offer satellite-based data analytics tools that help farmers manage risk.

That's Just the Tip of the Iceberg

Though these countries are all still considered developing nations, they are making groundbreaking strides in the tech world. If this article had looked into all third-world countries utilizing technology and communication, you would have ended up reading a book.

First-world countries are not the only ones focusing on technology and innovation. Latin America historically has been a place of vibrant innovation and inspiration, and modern times have proven it still maintains that forward-looking mindset.
